Northeast Harbor
Northeast Harbor pairs a sheltered working harbor with village shops, gardens, ferries to the Cranberry Isles, and direct access to Jordan Pond and the central mountain ridges.

Northeast Harbor became an understated summer colony shaped by sailing, hiking, and long seasonal stays. Its concentration of Philadelphia families earned the village the nickname “Philadelphia on the rocks,” and the Rockefeller family was among its summer residents.
The Asticou Hotel began in 1883, was rebuilt after an 1899 fire, and reopened in 1901. Nearby Asticou Azalea Garden, the Asticou Terraces, Thuya Lodge, and Thuya Garden preserve the village’s tradition of designed landscapes and quiet recreation.
